Noisy buggers.....

At the cinema last night, and thought that 'Never let me go' was just wonderful. I did shed a little tear I must admit, and have been giving it thought today, which I like....a film that stays with you for a little while.
There was a fly in the ointment though....in a cinema with only 20 people in it 4 of them were young, stupid and noisy, and lucky that I stopped my husband from 'having a word' with them........

I really want to see it. And True Grit. So you're ahead of me there.

I can't stand people who make noise in the cinema. That is one of my absolute bugbears.

I share your husband's inclinations. The last time I was moved to "have a word" I did it the right way and found a member of the cinema staff who dealt with it for me... much more effective.

I am guilty of yelling at people in the theatre to shut up... my husband cringes! I can't understand kids paying all that money to sit and gab in the dark when they could do it for free outside or in their own car/dorm/house. So far embarrassing people in front of the entire audience has worked for me. When it doesn't, I'll go to the theater staff. The reason I don't go to the theater staff first is because in my experience, they couldn't care less about doing their jobs in the first place, never mind putting themselves out for anyone else's comfort. I once asked them to unlock the candy kiosk so I could buy some, and was told, "I don't really feel like unlocking it, just buy something else."
