ALW.. the cake is called 'HermantheGerman' and is a friendship cake....very tasty and freezes well...but does mean my arse/belly/hips will keep getting bigger 'cos I love to eat cake.

JG...yep...that last photo does look a bit un-appetising doesn't it.....and if you have any walls that need shoring up the cake itself is quite...dense........tastes good though.

Looks a lot better than 'Nigellisima's' recent offerings.....and I bet you didn't serve it full of pout and dressed al a some Italian Siren!I only say this because I have lived in Sicily and I can assure you that NONE of the women I came to know EVER cooked or served up their food in such a manner....sheesh!!!
