Yup - did my postal vote a few days ago - though it somehow takes all the excitement out of toddling along to the polling station.

Hi Trish... how very modern of you 'going postal'!! but you're so right, physically walking to the polling station, taking your little slip of paper into the booth etc., I do enjoy that..taking the kids as they vote for the first time is always an emotional thing for me too...how soppy am I?
Hello Steve..thanks for 'following'....will the boys have you up early tomorrow anyway? good on yer for voting though....many many many years ago my dad stood as a candidate in Leam...I remember canvassing with him as a child, holding leaflets etc., a lifetime ago...

Couldn't agree more! People died, and all you have to do is put a cross on a piece of paper... sorry, spent years trying to engage teenagers in active citizenship. The words 'head' and 'brick wall' spring to mind (I can still feel the pain!). Wish I'd had this to show 'em: http://www.bringingupcharlie.co.uk/2010/04/leaders-debate.html

... oh, and I don't mind if I do. Thanks!

(WV for that last comment was cidersir... very polite and knowledgeable bar staff!)

Well done ladies...I'm proud of you whichever way you 'swing'!
Hi Dotterel......thanks for visiting. I have just got in from work and don't want/do want to put the news on to see how the day has gone election wise so far.
p.s.Am I missing something obvious as I don't quite understand the WV/cidersir comment?

Oh, the joy of voting and then staying up all night to discover that the people you vote for barely get any seats.

Must work out the heating........

I left for work at 7.50 this morning - no heating on - left work at 5.15 and then went to choir - so have just come in and the house is COLD...
