Thinking about my post last night, I realised that in fact I shall be sorry when my daughter can drive.....it will be such an 'ending'.....both of my babies will be grown and independently mobile and no longer need me.....and I felt such a sad yearning for those years long gone when buggies and car seats and bikes and skates were such a normal everyday part of our lives.

My eldest daughter is hoping for some driving lessons for her 18th.

I'll spring for them when she masters the walking without falling over !

Good luck to your daughter (and I hope you've got plenty of money for the insurance!)

Thanks Auntiegwen....how old is your eldest? do you have time to save (save? save? did I just type that? it's not a concept that I've ever had any relationship with!)the LARGE amount of money lessons/tests cost? I wish I had one of those trees my mother used to mutter about..y'know...the one in the garden that grows money.....
