I`ve always wanted to read `The Help` but `Brooklyn` looks interesting. I`m not even dressed yet and got folks coming round later.....I think I`ll put them off....having far too lazy a day for footering with vacuums and dusters (I do it everyday in my job, I`m cream-crackered today!). Let us know which book you pick. I`m listening to Anna Karenina on cd....and crocheting at the same time! Ah, Libs, the high life, eh??!!
ps My verification word for this comment was `fockleva`....no kidding!!!

I read Arthur and George and enjoyed it.

Probably 'The Help'. Once met Julian Barnes and never liked him, so that rules him out. What a perfect kind of day you had planned.

Well folks...thanks for taking the time to comment...always appreciated. As of yet I haven't started any book....still working through Annie Byrne and haven't given up on Wolf Hall yet.....and in fact spent hours cleaning out the verandah so that buggered up my plans...there is quite a big pile of books building up by the side of the bed.....but as my mom would say 'they don't eat anything so leave them be'....

Lovely china - I think my aunt had that one with the strawberries on. And is that Susie Cooper I spy?

I'd go with The Help. Although the author is apparently getting sued for taking the story of the maid without credit or something.
