This is outside a 'ladies fashion' shop locally.......y'know the sort of place....sells 'mother of the bride' outfits. Each time I walk past I look at the pastel dress/coat combo, or skirt and fancy jacket type thing and all the big hats, and wonder if my children will ever marry and will I ever want to wear something like this? I don't care if they never marry..I just want them to have love in their lives, and health and happiness and a smidgeon of sadness to temper the good, and make them appreciate what them have. This sign made me smile when I first saw it...is she in a pushchair? what exactly is she wearing? and the homemade-ness of it appeals...but the clothes? Oh heaven forbid...

This made me giggle as I am going to be the mother of the groom in a few weeks time (I can't believe it as I only feel 20 and I sometimes forget that my son isn't still 5!!). It has been challenging to say the least to find something chic, trendy and unfussy and uncluttered with bows and stuff, yet something to make a statement (which I like!). I tend to live in jeans and combats to be honest, except when working when i have to put on the dark suit etc. I'm soooo looking forward to this special day, but I can understand how you must feel as it seems such a long way in the future to you. (it did to me!!!!!) I will post photos after the wedding so you may like to see what my chic and unfussy outfit looks like!

Diney, I am sure it must be hard to find something for such a special lovely day and I know you will look absolutely stunning ... looking forward to the photos

There is a similar shop to this quite close to my office. The outfits in the window are rather surreal. Sort of timeless/ageless in a weird sort of way. Can't see me in any of them though!
