Now if you just started keeping a few chickens you could have egg & chips...
Yum....lots of butter, salt and pepper...no taste quite like it!
Have a good week, Libs. x
Nothing tastes finer...
Macy....good idea...but after a fox had our rabbit, I'm loathe to keep any living thing outside now....x
Nana....thanks Nana...enjoy your week too. x
Steve...will let you know when we have them!
How satisfying...and delicious!
Is that you holding the two potatoes with your red varnished nails? You seem to know how to handle them! You can't beat homegrown vegetables.
NB.....only enough for one meal though.
YP....No..not me..my daughter.
Egads, that reminds me of the scene in "Withnail & I" where Withnail gets sent out in the post-hurricane, wearing plastic bags on his feet in lieu of Wellies, to stab potatoes out of the ground with a fork. HAH!
P.S. Hot Pirate alert on my blog! ARRRRRR!
Yum yum! We have some spuds waiting to be unearthed. Expectations are not high as the rest of the vegetable crop is year has been dire...
I hope they taste good. I have some runner beans you could have with them. And raspberries for afters?
M...those men in kilts? mmmmmmm.
CQ...we only have spuds this year, gardening has not been high on our priority list.
Trish....I wish you lived closer...I love runner beans and raspberries!
This sort of find feels like the best thing in the world when you come across it. And Nana Go Go's simple but tasty accompaniment seems a good way to honour such a treat. Hope they tasted good :-)
Neat. What a lovely surprise, that's what gardening is all about (PS you have a very nice manicure, don't wreck it with the potato peeler)
LM...nothing better than butter and salt on great spuds eh?
ALW...the nails are my daughters! and every year I think about doing more gardening and every year don't ..ho hum.
I really miss my vegetable garden in the country. We now live in London and although we have a balcony, there's not enough room to grow potatoes!
I love the red nails pulling out pots - that looks just like me in the our old garden.
Helena xx
Hi Helena...welcome.....we don't exactly have a vegetable garden, but I'm not complaining!
