Sunday - all day.
Headache and hangover and mutterings of 'NEVER AGAIN'.
I knew with each glass I drank that I would regret it...but I ignored that little voice......
I just can't handle drinking and hangovers anymore.......what a lightweight I've become.

It's not lightweight, it's age, although that is, in fact, even more humiliating. I've been like this a while now, and look back on the days when I could enjoy a glass or two of wine with fond nostalgia.
S..perhaps it's a good thing...mother nature's way of saying 'enough now'.
You should drink the wine that I buy. Totally natural, un-tinkered with, no hangover at all. It's all those added 'sulphites' that do the damage.
Cro....sadly you are a little too far away to share a bottle with.
I'm sure the wine must be stronger these days...strangely I can't handle it any more either!
I've been teetotal for the last 7 months due, in large part, to feeling so crappy after having a bit of drink. I miss the act of drinking wine, but not the hangover.
NB....I am resolved not to drink too much when we go to Italy later in the summer....but I hope my resolve doesn't evaporate....we shall see.
B...How is that working out for you?
My problem became not so much the hangover as the fact it kept me awake. Long nights of insomnia until I put 2and2 together and realised it was wine. Stopped drinking and hey presto sleep. So occasionally now I drink gin, I can sleep but blimey I feel rotten the next day. Basically I gave up then. But how a hanker after a large glass of crisp white.
Magic red wine hangover trick: Next morning (or before you go to bed even) - drink a large glass of ice cold whole milk. In about five minutes, your headache will be gone.
A long time ago, I was engaged to a man from Mexico. He taught me that, and I've used it ever since. The milk has to be really, really cold - even use ice, if you have to, to get it super cold. I don't know the scientific reason why it works, but when you've got a red-wine headache, you really don't care, you just want it to go away.
K..hello!...so it's not just me then? I have thought about switching to spirits but think I might just try no booze for a while.
Mrs S...Well thanks for the tip but of course now I just want to know all about the man from Mexico?????
