It looks lovely. I spent a week in Durham many years ago and investigated the environs with great delight. It's a wonderful place.
Happy memories of Bamburgh Castle - in fact that whole North East coast is just beautiful (my real home and where my parents still live, just North of Newcastle)x
It truly was my sort of place....I love flat land and big skies so normally only like Norfolk or Lincolnshire....mountainous places are pretty but can give me the vapours sometimes...this coast just seemed to have it all...neither too flat or hilly...just fields that undulated next to beaches and castles and views that constantly made us ooh and aah..
We spent a walking holiday up there a couple of years ago. Most marvellous time. And you've got to eat chips, haven't you?
Glad you loved it, Libby - You've captured my favourite colours in your photo - the inky blue cloudy skies and the red pantiles, against so much that is green... I may be biased as I live here, but I'm pleased to share it with others, who can appreciate its many splendours... With love, Fhi x
Thanks for the tips Fhi... we stayed at Tosson for one night...felt the pull of the coast though for the rest...and the colours were indeed amazing...you are very lucky to live there.
Madame...is'nt there a law about having to have fish and chips at the coast? sure there is....
Ah, but twenty or so years of living with the coastal fret (mists, damp, clinging) draws you inland for the meadows and warmth! I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here and that you have depicted the county's beauty so truthfully and wonderfully, Libby x
